Website Development Company that builds sites already ready to be found
A website development company in India that also happens to be an SEO and performance marketing agency — so the site you get isn't handed off and then rebuilt six months later to fix the technical basics.
Most website development company shortlists in India come down to two kinds of vendor: a design studio that makes something beautiful and hands it over, or a dev shop that ships fast and code-reviews nothing about how it'll actually get found.
We're neither, mainly because we didn't start as one. Digital Hangover has spent years running SEO and performance marketing for 150+ brands across 15+ industries — which means we've inherited a lot of other people's websites that looked fine and performed badly. Website development is the newer half of what we do, built specifically to stop that handoff from happening on our own work.
Here's what's actually included, what it costs, and where we draw the line.
What our website development services include
Six workstreams, run roughly in this order on every build.
01 Discovery & site strategy
Sitemap, page-level goals and a rough keyword map before any design starts — so the pages that need to rank commercially aren't an afterthought bolted on after launch.
Decides the sitemap02 UX & wireframing
Low-fidelity structure for every template — home, category, product, contact — signed off before visual design, so revisions happen on a wireframe and not on finished pages.
Cheapest place to change your mind03 Custom design
A visual system built for your brand, not a stock theme with your logo dropped in. Custom website development is priced and scoped separately from a templated build.
Not a theme reskin04 Development
Built on WordPress, Shopify or hand-coded, depending on what the site actually needs to do — a five-page brochure site and a catalogue with 2,000 SKUs don't belong on the same stack.
Stack fits the job05 Ecommerce & integrations
Payment gateways, product catalogues, CRM and marketing-tool connections for stores and lead-gen sites alike — set up once, not patched in after launch.
Connected on day one06 SEO-ready handover
Site speed, crawlability, schema, redirects and clean URLs checked before launch — the exact list of things we otherwise get called in to fix on someone else's site a year later.
The actual differentiatorWhy a marketing agency's website development is different
This is the honest pitch, not a slogan: most website development companies are judged on how a site looks on launch day. We get judged on SEO and paid performance every month after that — so a site that's slow, unindexable, or missing basic technical hygiene comes back to hurt us directly, not just you.
That's why Core Web Vitals, clean information architecture, and crawlable structure aren't a separate line item here — they're built in during development, the same way we already do it for existing sites we optimise. It doesn't guarantee rankings; nothing does, and we'll say that plainly on the call. It does mean you're not paying twice — once to build the site, once later to fix it before SEO can even start.
What a website development project actually costs
We don't have a published web-development rate card the way we do for SEO or performance marketing — every project is scoped and quoted individually, because a five-page brochure site and a 2,000-product store are different jobs at different prices. For context, two independent Indian pricing guides published in March 2026 put the broad market ranges at:
| Site type | Typical India market range |
|---|---|
| Small business / brochure website | ₹10,000 – ₹80,000 |
| WordPress website | ₹15,000 – ₹3,50,000+ |
| Ecommerce website | ₹30,000 – ₹3,00,000+ |
| Fully custom site or web app | ₹1,00,000 – ₹15,00,000+ |
Ranges compiled from two independent, dated 2026 Indian web-development pricing guides (RG Infotech, 16 Mar 2026; Apricorn Solutions, 18 Mar 2026) — general market context, not a Digital Hangover rate card.
What actually moves your number: page count, whether the design is custom or templated, ecommerce or not, and how much content and copy needs writing alongside the build. Affordable website development is available at the smaller end of that range — but the same caution applies here as with any service priced well below the market band: it usually means a template, fewer revision rounds, or junior hours, and that's sometimes genuinely the right trade-off for an early-stage brochure site.
How a website development project runs
- Week 1 · Discovery. Sitemap, goals per page, competitor scan, and a rough keyword map so pages are structured around real search demand from the start.
- Weeks 1–2 · Wireframes. Structure signed off before any visual design, so changes happen while they're still cheap to make.
- Weeks 2–4 · Design. Custom visual system across every template, reviewed in rounds against the wireframes already agreed.
- Weeks 3–6 · Development. Build on the agreed stack — WordPress, Shopify or custom — with staging access throughout so you're not seeing the site for the first time at launch.
- Week 6–7 · QA & SEO handover. Cross-device testing, speed checks, crawlability, schema, redirects mapped if this replaces an existing site.
- Launch, then handover. CMS training for your team and documentation — you own the login, the hosting and the code, not us.
Typical timelines run 3–5 weeks for a brochure site up to 6–8 weeks for ecommerce or custom builds, depending on how much content and how many revision rounds are in scope.
WordPress, Shopify, or custom-built?
We build on whichever stack actually fits the brief, not whichever we default to.
- WordPress suits content-heavy sites, blogs, and businesses that want their team editing pages themselves after launch — the most common choice for our clients coming from SEO or content marketing engagements.
- Shopify suits ecommerce stores that want a proven checkout and payment stack without maintaining custom infrastructure.
- Custom code suits sites with functionality no off-the-shelf CMS handles well — booking systems, calculators, or anything closer to a web application than a website.
Can you redesign or rebuild an existing website?
Yes — website redesigns are a large share of what we're asked for, usually from businesses whose current site is slow, hard to update, or was built without any thought for how it would be found in search. A rebuild gets the same SEO-ready handover as a new build, plus a redirect map from every old URL to its replacement so existing rankings and links aren't lost in the move.
Why trust a marketing agency to build your website
Website development is the newer half of what we do — most of our client relationships started with SEO, performance marketing or CRO, and web development grew directly out of rebuilding what wasn't working underneath that work.
That means we don't have a long public portfolio of standalone web-development case studies to show you yet, and we'd rather say that plainly than dress up a handful of builds as more than they are. What we do have is 150+ brands scaled across search and performance marketing, and a website build that's built by the same team that then has to make it perform — not handed to a separate department that never sees the analytics.
Frequently asked questions
How much does website development cost in India?
It depends on scope — a brochure site, a WordPress build, an ecommerce store and a fully custom application all sit at different price points, roughly ₹10,000 at the small end to ₹15,00,000+ for a complex custom build, based on published 2026 Indian market pricing guides. We don't run a fixed rate card; every project gets a quote scoped to page count, design complexity, and whether ecommerce is involved.
Do you build on WordPress, Shopify, or custom code?
All three, chosen by what the site needs to do rather than a default. WordPress for content-heavy and editable sites, Shopify for ecommerce stores, and custom code for anything closer to a web application than a website.
Will the website be SEO-ready when it launches?
The technical basics — site speed, crawlability, schema, clean URLs and redirects — are handled during the build, not as a separate service afterwards. That doesn't guarantee rankings on its own; ongoing SEO is still a distinct engagement, but you won't be paying to fix the foundation before that work can even start.
Can you rebuild our existing website instead of starting from scratch?
Yes. Redesigns and rebuilds are a large part of what we do, typically for sites that are slow, hard to update, or were never built with search in mind. A rebuild includes a full redirect map from every old URL to its replacement so existing rankings and inbound links carry over.
How long does a website project take?
Roughly 3–5 weeks for a brochure or small business site, and 6–8 weeks for ecommerce or fully custom builds — driven mainly by how much content needs writing and how many design revision rounds are in scope.
Do you offer support after the site launches?
Yes, ongoing maintenance and updates are available after handover, and you retain ownership of the CMS login, hosting and code throughout — we don't lock a site behind our own access.
